We have more new business news... we've only gone and won the Duolingo Account!

We are ekstaza* to announce that we will now handle media in the U.K. for the world’s leading language-learning app Duolingo. The scope includes strategic planning, media planning and buying, and app store optimisation. The multi million ATL spend in the next 12 months will increase as the US based app seeks to grow in the U.K. The account was previously held by Bountiful Cow.

Duolingo was launched in 2011 and currently boasts over 500 million users globally including 13 million here in the U.K. Backed by Google parent company Alphabet through various funding rounds, in July this year the business floated on the NASDAQ under the ticker DUOL.

Colin Watkins U.K. Country Manager, Duolingo, said “with their unique and more advanced ability to manage modern brands, the appointment of Bicycle allows us to turbo-charge our approach to marketing and take things to the next level. It’s time to step things up and Bicycle are the perfect partner for that brave new future”.

Henry Daglish, CEO & Co-Founder, Bicycle London, said “Duolingo is the very best in the world at what it does: a thoroughly modern businesses success story. We’re extremely happy that they share our vision of Media Experience and we’re excited to go on the next stage of their journey with them”.

The win takes us up to annualised billings in excess of £20m in under three months of launching.
